INSOMNIA SAGA NEWS: final book postponed for indefinite time

Dearest Sleepwalkers,

I suppose the title says enough already — I’ve got some news on the Insomnia Saga, and it’s not all too good, I’m afraid.

To make a long story short, I am dealing with a major writer’s block when it comes to writing the final book.

Sure enough, I’ve dealt with some blocks before over the years, but never like this and especially not with the very last book in a series. I hate that it has come to this, but a few weeks ago I had to face facts when I realized that my actual health started to suffer from this very issue.

The mere thought of writing the book gave me so much stress that it made me feel nauseous and even gave me stomach aches, and that’s when I knew I had to do something, because no matter how much I love my characters, writing a book shouldn’t be this hard and should definitely not make me ill.

It’s the strangest thing, because I have plenty of inspiration (too much, even) for dozens of other projects. As you all probably know, I’m currently working on the final book of The Sea of Her series and it’s no problem at all. It is such a smooth, enjoyable experience, just like I’m used to.

But when it comes to the final Insomnia Saga book, I’ve been struggling for far longer than I wanted to admit at first, even to myself. I’d planned to write it in 2020, then came up with excuses not to do it. I then wanted to write it in 2021, and once more found more excuses not to do it again. This year was supposed to be the year for me to finish the series — and that’s when the stress hit me full-force.

Which is why I have decided to postpone the release for indefinite time.

I wish I could tell you guys more, that I could give you something, anything, but every time I’ve sat down to work on the book it just didn’t feel right; it didn’t excite me. It didn’t give me that butterflies-in-your-belly feeling, which writing a book always gives me.

This is so unlike me and I feel really bad about it. When I start something, I always finish it, always see it through to the end. I truly am sorry about this, because I know there are a few of you out there who really want to know how Jodi’s and Kay’s story will come to conclusion, but I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a while longer, and I can’t even tell you how long.

I sincerely hope I’m not letting too many readers down, and that you’ll understand — even if I barely understand what the heck is going on with me and this series. Even as I’m writing this, I feel so bad and guilty and disappointed. But I guess sometimes you have to make decisions that are tough and try to live with them.

Naturally, as soon as I’ve got news on the Insomnia Saga, I will let you all know immediately. Yet for now, I have to let go of this stress which has been building up inside of me for nearly two years, and choose for my health. Instead, I will focus on writing new series so I can bring you guys new books this year, and I really hope you’ll enjoy them.

Once more, I deeply apologize, and if you have any questions, please drop them down below and I’ll answer them all.

Thank you for reading this ❤️
